Public engagement, plenty of fun and a trade stand sell-out.
That was the positive news to come out of Turn to Starboard’s first ever visit to The Royal Cornwall Show at Wadebridge last week.
More than 100,000 people attended the event on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to celebrate the county’s biggest annual show. Turn to Starboard was kindly invited to attend as part of RAF St Mawgan’s stand, who have close ties with the charity.
Despite frustrating weather conditions, volunteers and staff spent time talking with visitors about the charity’s work while selling a range of branded waterproof bags . Almost £2000 was raised over the three days which will go towards supporting those affected by military operations.
The show saw a royal visit from Prince Edward, birds of prey displays, a mass parade of hounds, show jumping and the Devon and Cornwall Police dog display team among many other attractions.
