Families embark on sailing adventures

22nd August 2017

Fifteen families have shown their seafaring spirit by completing week-long sailing adventures on board our 32-foot yacht.

The sailing trips are held mostly during the summer season and aim to help family members affected by operations to re-engage in a new environment. Kids and adults can learn new skills such as steering the yacht, hoisting sails, standing watch and sailing at night.

Yachts are skippered by an experienced Turn to Starboard Yachtmaster, which enables families to take part in as much or as little sailing as they wish. Boats are moored at different locations each night and guests can choose to spend a day exploring the local area if they choose.

Family sail participant Kayleigh-Bella Hartung said: “We had a brilliant time with brilliant skipper’s, and I’ve definitely got my sea legs now. The only problem is having to leave when I was just getting into the sailing, I really hope we get the chance to do it all over again.”
