Round Britain Challenge crew approach major milestone

22nd August 2017

The crew aiming to complete a 2000-mile sailing challenge has almost reached the halfway mark of the epic journey.

The Round Britain Challenge expedition has travelled almost 1000 miles from Falmouth so far, and will reach the Orkney Islands on August 27.

The Spirit of Falmouth will then sail down the East and South coast, stopping at ports including Ipswich, Isle of Wight and Plymouth.

The final leg of their mammoth voyage will take them from the Helford River and back to Falmouth on Sunday October 1.

It is hoped that the journey will help participants re-engage, reintegrate and gain new skills while raising awareness of the challenges Service personnel can face when leaving the military.
