Falmouth runner completes London Marathon in aid of Turn to Starboard

9th May 2019

An estate agent and keen runner from Falmouth has taken on the London Marathon as part of a series of challenges in aid of Turn to Starboard.

Jon Sampson, Managing Director at Martin & Co Lettings and Estate Agents, completed the 26.2-mile gruelling route in an impressive four hours and three minutes.

He said: “It was a great day, the weather was perfect and the support all the way round was incredible. Martin & Co staff were strategically placed on the route to keep me going but there was a fair bit of cheering for Turn to Starboard from the crowds too. After an exhausting but exhilarating day I hope we have managed to do a little bit more to raise the profile of this fantastic charity. We still have some more challenges to go throughout the year and our next Turn to Starboard fundraising event will be a Comedy Night here in Falmouth.”

Jon will put on his running shoes once again in September for the Half Marathon des Sables – a 120km challenge spread over three days in the heart of Fuerteventura’s desert, the largest island of the Canaries in Spain.

Earlier this year, staff from the branch hosted a charity comedy night at the Portreath Arms Hotel in aid of Turn to Starboard and completed the Bath Half Marathon. So far, the energetic team have raised an incredible £959.90 for the charity for which we are incredibly grateful! Click here to make a donation.
