Applications have open for our Boat Restoration Program inviting five injured veterans from anywhere in the UK to join our team to help restore ‘Tudora’ – a motor cruiser gifted to Turn to Starboard.
Participants on the 3-month program can learn traditional boat building skills and gain hands-on experience from marine industry experts. Places are offered free of charge and open to military veterans with physical injuries or a diagnosed mental health condition, with an expectation that candidates only contribute as much as they feel able, no matter how small.
Restoration work will take place in a friendly, positive and supportive environment at our base in Falmouth Marina, Cornwall. Basic accommodation can be provided onboard one of our vessels for the duration of the project. No previous boat building experience is necessary as all training will be provided, yet brew-making skills are highly desired!
If you would like to help bring this historic vessel back to life, please email Ellen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01326 314262. Closing date for applications is Friday, 20 September 2019.
